Chapter #32: Summer Radio

The past two and a half months, it's been kinda like getting back to normal pretty much after last summer's epic trip to Alaska (Juneau). But this summer I think much more productive taking the opportunities given to me and taking full advantage of that. My very first summer spent here in Manhattan as been a busy one getting work done and just relaxing. From late May learning how to do a news broadcast record it and all of that stuff, to promoting events over the radio so the community of Manhattan at the very least knows what's going on. All the way to learning about how to do severe weather and how to insert that into a live broadcast. Then there's sports talk each week on Wednesday's this summer which as been a blast getting a chance to talk about sports with Cameron Banning and with Preston Rumford as well. And then the transition to my DJ show "Primetime" which I play alternative rock and do sports updates each week from Monday thru Friday 7 to 9pm which I enjoyed doing that and playing people's request on it too. Doing a little promos for a few shows with Ryan Stark have been good; learning about knowing what you want on your show and cutting it down to about 30 seconds is kinda of hard to do but it wasn't that bad. Our radio station got a good laugh when Jen decided she wanted to do this event called "Pull a dare from Eddie's hair" on her show which turned out to be really good, haha!! Doing lots and lots of things the last couple of months for The Wildcat 919 KSDB has been fun to do and be apart of thanks for the opportunity...as we are about to transition into the fall semester I'm looking forward to happen what going to happen it's going to be interesting that for sure as I'll moving to a different section on the staff team.

The people that I was hanging out with this summer and will continue into August:
Mary
Jared
Elijah
Jen
Caitlin
Cameron
Joey
Ryan

Chapter #31 New Phone/Technology

It's been almost two months since my last  post it seems like I'm getting lazier and lazier...haha. But I guess starting now I will be getting back on these posts and update you on what's going. Blogging about life and other things that interests myself. And this will be my first blog post of the summer. And with everything going on around me right now things are about to get busier plus a time of change is going to happen soon. I have a lot to actually look forward to so will see what will happen for the rest of this summer and much more to come.

During my hiatus from blogging I got a new cell phone. I basically upgraded from the one I had since I have been in college; still with the same carrier Verizon, changed phones to a regular to a "4G" smart phone. Yeah, that's right I'm trying to catch up on modern technology a little bit, lol. I will still keep my old phone though but for right now I'm still on the learning curve on how to operate the phone. It's been going well so far; it's that there are sooo many features on this phone that it's great. This thing is like one big dictionary that you wouldn't need anything else well except food. A lot of people/friends depend on this type of phone weather it's an iPhone or a different phone in there daily routine while still use it of course but of important reasons like the alarm clock. I'm still at the learning stage of trying to learn how to use all of these apps and use them for the right reasons. From games, to news, camera, video and lots more. Phones are definitely important; especially in this age of technology. you got to have the right connections.
