Chapter #28: K-State vs Baylor Weekend Preview

I'm doing a blog post of the radio station The Wildcat 91.9 and here is a weekend preview of an important series for the 'Cats as take on #8 Baylor team that is unbeaten in conference play.

K-State vs. #8 Baylor (May 13-15th): The 'Cats resume conference play this weekend on Friday as they take on the Baylor Bears who stand in the top 10 nationally in the country at #8 with a record of 27-7. And Baylor riding a wave of momentum winning 16 straight games and coming of a series Wednesday night sweeping Louisiana-Munroe in 2 games. K-State head coach Brad Hill and company will have there hands full playing the best of the best in the Big 12 conference. Meanwhile on Wednesday night the 'Cats lost in Springfield, Missouri as they lost to Missouri State 3-0 dropping the 'Cats record to now 17-15 on the season after last weekend sweeping the 3-game series against Sacred Heart at Tointon Family Stadium. If the 'Cats are going to snapped the Bears long winning streak this weekend, they will need there bats to come alive which the offense has been up and down this season up to this point. The 'Cats need consistent pitching as well if they are going to stay with a national ranked team like the Bears. K-State has four players who are in the top 15 in batting average. Led by centerfielder Jared King coming off a 3 for 4 game Wednesday night against Missouri State. Conference resumes for the 'Cats Friday night at 6:30 at Tointon Family Stadium. Games on Saturday and Sunday begin at 1pm. Friday's game is Military Appreciation Night; Military personal can get general admission for $3.

Chapter #27 Arizona Part 2

It's been awhile...but I wanted to share a funny story in Part 2 of the spring break trip to Arizona one of the main highlights of the trip.

Funny Story: In the middle of the week in Arizona (a few weeks ago) me and a couple of the youth students Jake, Haleigh and a couple more helped out with baking oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies which turned out to be a success. Okay, so after that has been taking care of we clean up and put everything away in the kitchen (cabin). The kitchen cabin was set up a little bit different form your normal kitchen like the refrigerator and freezer. They were both the same exact length right next to each other...usually the freezer is on top of the frig. So, I had the eggs in my hands and put them up in the other frig (the right side) without me every really realizing that is was actually the freezer. Waking up the next morning, I'm walking back into the cabin and I get asked the question, "Did you put the eggs in the freezer?" and I said, "No I didn't." I got asked the same question again and I said no again before the ladies Jalena and Natasha said that I put them in the freezer. Yeah, but hey I didn't know...there was no labels on them saying which one was which. Kelsey decorated some labels and put them. For the rest of trip my new name was "freezer" everybody had a lot of fun with that one.

After pretty much we got done what we need to as a group towards the end of the week, we took our last afternoon to visit the Grand Canyon which something else. The view all around that place was awesome; we were there until sunset then headed back.
